Reactions Trail Report By PDP Chieftain, Chidoka As He Reveals Atiku Is Seeking Alliance With Obi

According to a post made today by Sahara Reporters via their verified Twitter handle, it was reported that a People’s Democratic Party chieftain named Chidoka has revealed that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is seeking alliance with the Labour Party Presidential Candidate and former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Gregory Obi.

This was as a result of the aftermath of the 2023 general election results which was not in their favour, as they were both defeated by the ruling All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who emerged as the winner and President-Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Gregory Obi both ran under the ruling opposition People’s Democratic Party in 2019 as the presidential candidate and the running mate before going their separate ways in 2023, as they emerged as the PDP and Labour Party flag bearers respectively.

However the results of the election as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was not in their favour as they emerged as the runner-up and second runner-up respectively with over six million votes each.

With the believe that the electoral process that declared Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner and President-Elect not being credible enough, the two candidates from the opposition parties felt the urge to challenge the outcome of the results with petition filed in court at the Presidential Election Tribunal.

With this on ground, the report of the imminent alliance between the two candidates after the election has sparked a whole lot of reactions having got many people talking hitherto, as some sees this as an unnecessary move as the deed is done already.

Many were of the opinion that this should have come at the initial stage as they should have come together as one to contest against the ruling party candidate, hence their potential alliance at this point to challenge the victory of the president-elect is rather useless.
