PDP Wins 25 House Of Assembly Seats In Osun, APC Wins One

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun state has won 25 of the 26 House of Assembly seats while the main opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress, APC, won one.

The official result announced across the collation centers in the state showed that the PDP won a majority of the seat while that of the Boripe/Boluwaduro constituency earlier suspended till Sunday was won by the All Progressives Congress.

The result of the Ife-Central and Ife-East constituency was announced at the INEC head office in Osogbo due to what the commission ascribed to security issues.

Again, APC chairman, Adamu loses the polling unit

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has lost his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party in the governorship and House of Assembly elections held yesterday in Nasarawa State.

It was reported that in his GRA (A1) Polling Unit 010, in Keffi, the headquarters of Keffi Local Government Area, the PDP got 159 votes, while APC polled 129 as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s presiding officer, Okoh Everest.

The result also showed that the Social Democratic Party got one vote, while the Labour Party, got zero. However, recall that two days before the February 18 election, LP had collapsed its structure into the PDP for the governorship and State House of Assembly poll. It was also reported that APC also lost the House of Assembly poll in the APC leader’s polling unit to PDP.

Gov’s nephew, security officers die, residents, blame bad road

Amadu Ali, the nephew of Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, two security men, identified as Nura Sufyanu and Kabir Ali, have been killed in a motor accident at Gadar Tsuntsaye, in the Musawa Local Government Area of the state.

Masari’s Director General of Social Media, El-Amin Isa, and the spokesman for the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the accident, which happened on Friday. Other sources revealed that the victims, along with others, were on their way to the governor’s hometown, Kafur, for Saturday’s governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

The sources said the accident was caused by the bad road in the area. A source said, “The victims were about to get to a bridge in the area on Friday night when they ran into the bad portion of the road, which forced the vehicle they were traveling into skid and somersault, leading to their death.”

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has been declared the winner of the election in the Offa Local Government Area of the state.

According to the results announced at the LGA Collation Centre, Abdulrazaq polled a total of 14,696 votes ahead of Shuaibu Yaman, his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 6,705 votes. Abdulrazaq is one of the 11 governors seeking reelection.
