Mixed Reactions on Twitter After Desmond Elliot Wins Surulere Constituency 1 For The Third Time

It will interest you to note that the governorship and assembly elections were conducted nationwide on the 18th of March by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. According to information gathered from Vanguard, it will interest you to note that Desmond Elliot, a Nollywood actor cum politician has won the Surulere constituency 1 assembly seat in Lagos. 

In Lagos State, the Surulere constituency (one) was one of those keenly contested positions. The leading candidates were Desmond Elliot of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Olumide Oworu of the Labour Party. During the sorting and collation of results, it was gathered that some polling units that experienced technical glitches were rescheduled for today.

It will interest you to note that after the collation of results, Desmond Elliot came tops with 17,877 votes while the candidate of the Labour Party came second with 7,822 votes. His victory has caused mixed reactions on Twitter. Check out some of the reactions.

 It should be recalled that during the #ENDSARS protest that happened in 2020, Desmond Elliot received a heavy backlash after a video of him speaking during a plenary session of the Lagos State House of Assembly saw him refer to Nigerian youths as children.
