Speaking about the 2023 governorship election that took place on March 18, A Nigerian food and lifestyle bloggers, Yemisi Sophie Odusanya also known as Sisi Yemmie revealed that she was denied her civic rights on Saturday, at her polling unit as she couldn’t vote
The blogger lament that she and her husband were denied access because they looked like Igbo people. She also added that she was born in Lagos but was not allowed to vote because she don’t look like Yourba
In a tweet she posted on her verified Twitter handle, Yemisi Sophie said she was born in Lagos state and one of those who prevented them from casting their votes said the fact that she was born in Lagos doesn’t mean she is an indigene of Lagos state. According to her, “I was born in Lagos. I’m a Lagos woman. This is my village but I was not allowed to vote because I don’t look like Yoruba
