Why Chelsea fans should rejoice at their performance today, despite the 2-2 draw with Everton

Chelsea fans had plenty of reasons to be disappointed with their team’s performance in their 2-2 draw against relegation contenders Everton in the 28th round of the 2022–23 Premier League season. However, despite the result, there were also plenty of positives to take from the game.

First and foremost, Chelsea showed tremendous resilience in the match. After going into the break nil-nil, Chelsea were able to fight back and take the lead thanks to a 52nd-minute opener from Joao Felix. It was a performance of great character and fortitude, and one that should be applauded.
Second, the performance of some of Chelsea’s key players was excellent. Joao Felix, in particular, was outstanding throughout the match, scoring the first goal and providing a constant threat going forward. He was ably supported by the likes of Kai Havertz, Enzo Fernandez, and Christian Pulisic, who all had good games.
Finally, the result was enough to maintain Chelsea’s tenth-place position in the Premier League table, with the Blues now just 11 points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur in fourth place.
In conclusion, despite the disappointment of squandering a two-goal lead, Chelsea fans should be pleased with the team’s performance, as they showed great character and spirit to fight back and earn a point. With the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Joao Felix, and Christian Pulisic in great form, there is plenty of reason to be optimistic about Chelsea’s chances of success this season.
