APC ‘ll win not less than 28 states – Lawan

THE President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan shortly after casting his vote yesterday has expressed confidence that his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) will win not less than 28 states.
Lawan spoke while responding to questions from journalists at the Katuzu ward polling unit in Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State where he cast his vote during the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
In a statement yesterday by his Special Adviser, Media, Ola Awoniyi, the President of the Senate said, “We are in control of the National Assembly. We have won the Presidency. We are going to win nothing less than 28 states at the end of this election.”

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has called for the arrest and prosecution of yet-to-be identified political thugs who attacked and burnt down the election material distribution centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Okodi town, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

It was gathered that the voting materials which arrived at about 3:00am were meant for Ogbia ward 2, ward 4 and ward 5, all in Ogbia Constituency.
Jonathan, while speaking with journalists after he voted at his Polling unit 039, ward 13 Otuoke in Ogbia Local Government Area, condemned the incident and called on the security operatives in the state to ensure the perpetrators of the criminal acts are brought to book.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission have reportedly “refused” to go into the Victoria Garden City area in Lagos State for the conduct of the governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the area on Saturday.
A video shared on Twitter by @Vakkane1 showed the officials sitting under a tent outside the area.
The tweep captioned the tweet, “INEC officials refused to go inside VGC where the polling units are distributed insisting that they were instructed to stay outside VGC for the voting.”
Shootings in Lagos as thugs invade polling unit, cart away ballot boxes

Hoodlums suspected to be political thugs have reportedly snatched ballot boxes at Polling Unit 075 in Iyana-Isashi area of Lagos State.
The incident, according to residents, disrupted the ongoing governorship and state assembly elections in the area.
One of the electorates who cast his vote prior to the incident, Collins Michael told Daily Trust that the thugs came in numbers and snatched the ballot boxes amid shooting.
