Graham Potter Has Insisted That Chelsea Would Try To Win The UEFA Champions league

Chelsea struggled to perform well at the beginning of this season under Graham Potter. The Blues struggled to win most of their matches earlier this season.

However, they have managed to secure a victory in their last three matches in all competitions. The Blues defeated Leicester City 3-1 in their last match thanks to goals from Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Mateo Kovacic.

Chelsea are in the UEFA Champions league title race this season. The Blues defeated Borussia Dortmund to advance to the quarter-finals of the competition. Chelsea have now been drawn against Real Madrid in the Champions league quarter-finals. The Los blancos defeated Liverpool 6-2 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.

Chelsea and Real Madrid are the most recent winners of the Champions league title. The Blues won the title in 2020/2021 season while Real Madrid won the title last season. Graham Potter believes his side could win the Champions league title this season.

The manager said: “I said we would try to f*****g win the Champions League,”.

“That’s the same for every seven clubs. They will also say that they could lose in the quarter-final because that’s the nature of the Champions League. We’ll focus on Real Madrid when we get there.”

Potter also heaped praises on N’golo Kante and he’s hoping the frenchman get back to full fitness.

The manager said “Managers before me have spoken very highly about N’Golo because he is a top, top player. He has been a huge miss to us, that’s not to say other players haven’t given absolutely everything, they have. But N’Golo Kante is a top player.”

“When you have a player injured for that length of time, you have to take those steps to get him up to speed, get him back to the player he is in a responsible way… Once he is at his highest level he is a huge player for us.”

Kante played in all 13 game of Chelsea’s successful Champions League campaign in 2020/21.
