Shehu Sani Reacts After Nigeria Lost To Gambia In U-20 AFCON Semifinals
Shehu Dani, a former Kaduna lawmaker, reacted after Nigeria’s Flying Eagles were eliminated from the U-20 AFCON competition on Monday night.
Gambia defeated Nigeria 1-0 to earn a place in the U-20 AFCON final against Senegal. The Gambians qualified for their first-ever youth Nations Cup final after Adama Bojang scored the game’s only goal in the game. The Flying Eagles dominated possession and had the most scoring chances, but they failed to convert. They had a chance to tie the game in the 86th minute after being awarded a penalty, but Ahmed Abdullahi missed.
Gambia was reduced to 10 men in the final minutes of the game, but they were still able hold on to their lead till he end of the game.
Shehu Sani reacted to the game’s outcome, saying that the defeat was painful, despite the fact that the nation’s attention is focused on the elections.
His tweet reads and i quote;
“Flying Eagle loss to Gambia is painful;even though the attention of the nation is on the elections.”
