Current EPL Table And Review After Man United Won 2-1 And Liverpool Lost 3-0
Premier league actions continued by 16:00 BST as the likes of Man United and Liverpool were all in action.
Man United were keen to return to winning ways following their 3-2 defeat against Arsenal in the league last time out. They played host to Crystal Palace at Old trafford.
Man United were once again impressive and won a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. Man United captain Bruno Fernandes stepped up and sent Guaita the wrong way to give the Red devils’ a 1-0 lead in the 7th minute. Man United had some decent chances but failed to convert them and were quite comfortable in seeing out the game for the half time whistle.
Crystal Palace were much improved in the second half but failed to create decent chances. Man United on the other hand made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute through Marcus Rashford. However, Casemiro was shown a red card in the 70th minute and Man United’s agility dropped as they looked to see out the game. Schulpp pulled one back for the visitors and Crystal Palace had chances to clinch a point but Man United held on to claim a 2-1 win.
Liverpool were also in action and they took on Wolves at the Molineux stadium at same time on Saturday.
Liverpool had the worst possible start to the game when Joel Matip turned the ball into his own net to give Wolves a 1-0 lead. Things got worse for Jurgen Klopp’s side and it was Dawson who made it 2-0 in the 12th minute of the game. Although Liverpool had good chances to half the deficit, they were lucky to be down by just 2 goals at the break.
Liverpool were much better in the second half and had flurry of chances to half the deficit but Nunez failed to score. Wolves took their chances and made it 3-0 through Ruben Neves in the 71st minute of the game. The game eventually finished 3-0 to Wolves.
In the EPL table, Man United now occupy 3rd spot following their win over Crystal Palace. Liverpool on the other hand remain in 10th place. The EPL table is shown below.
