Afropop singer and Nigerian music powerhouse, Yemi Eberechi Alade, better known as Yemi Alade, on Saturday August 6, hosted a listening party for her upcoming Extended Play, Queendoncom.
The event was attended by celebrities, including Falz, Alex Ekubo, Lasisi Elenu, Nancy Isime, and Tacha. The Mama Africa singer has also announced dates for her upcoming Empress Tour. She made the announcement via her Instagram page @yemialade.
The tour will begin in Berkeley, California on September 9, 2021 and ends in New York on October 10, 2021. Some of the places that she would visit include Los Angeles, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; North Adams, Washington; Toronto, Ontario; Montreal, Quebec; Washington, DC; and New York.
The songwriter, actress and activist hit the limelight after she won the Peak Talent Show in 2009, and thereafter was signed to Effyzzie Music Group, and had a hit with her single Johnny in 2014.
Since then Yemi has gained prominence in the music industry and considered one of the biggest artistes in Africa. The release of her albums King of Queens and Mama Africa with huge commercial success recorded for both projects, made her embark on world tours consecutively.
In September 2019, she signed a multi-year licensing deal with Universal Music Africa (UMA) and UMG France. UMA serves as her exclusive worldwide record partner, while UMG France will serve as vthe international rollout partner for all of her releases under the label.
