Rapper Slimcase Apologises For Being Insensitive (Video)


“Nigerians I am sorry, I didn’t mean it that way, says in a video he shared online.

Popular rapper, Slimcase asked Nigerians to forgive him for dropping a comment that portrayed him as an oblivious fellow.

Slimcase was damned by social media users after he shared a post about a black man identified as who was killed by white police officer in US, leaving out the death of a 16-year-old girl, , who was purportedly shot dead by a police in Lagos state where he (Slimcase) resides.

Reacting to Floyd’s death, Slimcase wrote on his official Instagram page that “FAME AFTER DEATH… any positive blow wey I gats blow God Let me blow am now that I am alive not after I am dead George A sacrifice for d change in black history.”

Slimcase’s post got one of his followers angry and questioned him for being unresponsive to the death of the teenager, Tina in Lagos, Nigeria.

However, Slimcase was quick to defend himself, implying that he preferred to react to a global issue than local. “We talking about a global pandemic here. Leave the Lagos girl for Channels to talk about am”, the rapper wrote.

Slimcase Apologises For Being Insensitive (Video)

Shortly after his reply, Nigerians on social media lambasted him for being insensitive. The harsh comments Slimcase received from social media users forced him to clarify his initial reply to the fan who questioned him and apologized in the process.

Slimcase released a short video of himself begging Nigerians for forgiveness. “I am just knowing about the little girl cus I hardly check posts I am so so sorry I never meant it that way so sorry I apologize, he captioned the footage.

In a fresh post, Slimcase joined the likes of Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and other celebrities who have reacted to the death of Tina. The rapper also called for justice.
