Buhari Mourns Death Of Ex-NNPC Boss, Maikanti Baru
President Buhari has commiserated with the family and friends of former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr Maikanti Baru, who died last night.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari also condoled with the government and people of Bauchi State, as well as management and staff of NNPC over Baru’s demise.
The statement reads;
“President Buhari acknowledges Baru’s contributions to ensuring stability in the oil sector in Nigeria, with a more guaranteed supply and predictable price regime that weakened unscrupulous parallel marketers, especially during festive seasons.
“The President prays that the almighty God will receive the soul of the departed, grant eternal rest, and comfort all who mourn him,” the statement read in part.
Baru’s death was announced by the current GMD of the corporation, Mele Kyari, on Saturday morning.
