‘Oluwa Come And Intervene’, Fear Grips Residents As Lagos Records 117 New Coronavirus Cases In Two Days
Fear on Wednesday gripped Nigerians, especially residents of Lagos State as the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, announced the country recorded 117 new cases of coronavirus.
NCDC had in its tweet said it recorded 59 in Lagos, 14 in Kano, 29 in FCT, 6 in Borno, 4 in Katsina, 31 in Ogun, 1 in Bauchi and 1 in Rivers.
Reacting, Nigerians took to the social media to pray for God’s intervention. Some residents in Lagos while expressing sadness over the insecurity in the State, wondered how the State went from 0 to 59 in 24 hours.
Here are some comments from social media:
@tolutezzy, “NCDC allowed us to celebrate about no case in Lagos yesterday, today they are now reporting 59 in Lagos. Is it that they combined yesterday’s figures with today’s results?”
@Realdreyo, “117 new cases today, total of 59 in Lagos only, then we still have 1 million boys Ati 300 million boys coming together to fight each other. ”
@lambobranding, “59 in Lagos, the fact is that Nigeria has not tested enough. And the question is why haven’t we tested enough? Look at a very small country like Ghana, they have tested more than we have done.”
@Themrnass, “Yesterday it was 23 in Kano and 59 in Lagos today and 25 death. The high recorded cases just revolve around the two populous states. May Almighty have mercy on us & heal the victims.”
@OS_persona, “59 in Lagos, 14 in Kano. I still strongly believe that all these are an under-representation of what is really going on in these states.”
@Itcanbe_undone, “Not surprised anymore on the increasing number of cases. The so thought educated Lagosians are missing the traffic already hence, 59 in Lagos and my ever nonchalant people of Dabo decided to host Corona Cup-14 in Kano.”
@Ade_tula, “With the way things are going right now, I think I’m definitely gonna sneak out of Lagos codedly to my hometown because I do not understand.”
@idyrez, “59 in Lagos, Lagosians refused to stay at home, Kano people refused to pray at home. Oluwa come and intervene.”
@Okey_junior, “59 in Lagos, how many members of #1millionboys are among this number, time has reached when the name of the carriers will be mentioned, stay at home they will not adhere. Please mention names.”
_usy, “25 death from COVID-19 already, 59 in Lagos today, this shit is scary and getting out of hand. Guys let’s stay at home pls. We pray almighty will bring an end to it.”
