COVID-19 LOCKDOWN: Nigerian Sentenced For Throwing Party In Turkey
The Police in Turkey has arrested a Nigerian man, Ebuka John, for organising a birthday party for his child in Istanbul on Wednesday.
It was learnt that John was arrested for violating the orders on lockdown and social distancing. It was also gathered that the suspect still found a way to organise the party despite the lockdown.
Residents informed the police and they raided the party. Ebuka and four Turks who helped him organise the party were arrested and charged to court.
A Turkish court, however, gave his 46 guests, mostly Nigerians administrative fines, and sentenced to a 3-month house arrest.
