Kelechi Ihenacho Secures First Goal Since Last Year

Kelechi Iheanacho has set a record he might not want to remember for a while after going without a goal for a calendar year.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first goal since September 2018 when he made his first appearance in the as a substitute in Leicester City’s 4-0 win over Luton Town.

The 22-year-old was introduced as a 71st-minute substitute and helped the Foxes advance into the fourth round of the League Cup on Tuesday.

Prior to Leicester City’s visit to Luton, Iheanacho had been dropped from all of his team’s games this season.

The 2-year-old’s last goal for Leicester was in their 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town last September.and the former Manchester City forward is yet to find the back of the net in 25 matches Premier League matches so far.

He has also lost his place in the national team after he was left out of Gernot Rohr’s AFCON squad and was an unused substitute in the recent friendly game with Ukraine.
